With a handful of EP’s behind them, Austin’s Voxtrot have proven that they might very well be among the best sprinters in the business. Curiously though, without a long player to their name, the band have yet to prove themselves worthy distance runners, a fact that has left their fans in a permanent state of anticipation. Details of a full-length are vague, but promising, and while the waiting is indeed the hardest part, Voxtrot attempt to make it all easier by releasing yet another EP. A three song offering, Your Biggest Fan continues to make the case that Voxtrot is one of the freshest and most lyrically innovative pop bands around. The title track finds singer Ramesh Srivastava plaintively summoning Morrissey and in the process uttering lines that would make the Prime Minister of Mope blush with envy. Elsewhere, “Trouble” begins by summoning The Beautiful South, but quickly builds to a delicious pop janglefest. The melancholy “Sway” dolefully ends the whole affair, with Srivastava singing about marriage and divorce and a singular summer before things went terribly wrong. It may only be three songs, but Your Biggest Fan is enough to demonstrate that Voxtrot just keeps getting better. Full length! Full length!
