Apostrophe alert! Th’LS*S may be punctuationally challenged, but my, do they rock! This album has you by the throat from the first note. “Ichabod! conjures up visions of rows of high-kicking Cossacks as it hurtles along like an out of control rhino. Instrumentally, it encompasses everything but the kitchen sink, featuring one of music’s rare recorded typewriter solos. This is a band exploding with ideas and, on this album, have managed to put them into order while at the same time encapsulating the blur of tattoos and cherry red guitars which make up their live act. This is down to the no-holds-barred production approach of Col J.D.Wilkes and Mark Robertson, bringing in support from Jello Biafra and the Rev Horton Heat. “Bottom Road proves that they have versatility as well as energy, while the maniac rockabilly of “Iron Lung Oompah makes you realize that there just isn’t enough of this sort of thing around. Lovers of Coldplay and Keane will be horrified, but anyone with rock ‘n’ roll in their blood should purchase Pandelirium immediately.
