Remember that cancelled show Love Monkey about the A&R guy with the heart of gold who LOVED earnest acts? Well he would have enjoyed Lost Tricks. A track from their self-titled EP could have been featured during a wrap-up montage where we learn about love, life and music with a nifty little voice over. Then you would have found yourself wondering if you were listening to New Radicals. The songs are fine but it’s easy to be distracted when you’re mentally ticking off an influence list. But hey, maybe by their full-length they’ll have it worked out--and can claim their rightful place in the montages of America’s pop culture.
