This exceedingly eccentric (they're all multi-instrumentalists) indie rock trio from Idaho knows an understated anthem when it sees one. Witness the amazing "Dali" which deceptively commences as a sexy neo-soul offering (Mary J. are you listening?), then graduates to a full- fledged song of praise worthy of the mighty Bono. The abstract waltz "Shaky" nearly falls apart in mid-song, save Cameron Bouiss' other-worldly steel drum motifs which seems to appear from nowhere. Lisa Simpson's vocals will either scare or seduce you (or both!), and Eric Gilbert picks up where the other two leave off. Joyful melodies, funky grooves, soaring harmonies - highly recommended for fans of The Decembertists, Broken Social Scene, Elliott Smith.
