EVERY MOVE A PICTURE kick off a summer tour in support of their upcoming debut album Heart = Weapon (V2 / July 11) as they head out on tour with The Rakes on July 5th.
This anxiously anticipated album boasts the production skills of former Girls Against Boys member Eli Janney (Jet, Enon, The Rapture, Secrect Machines, Nation of Ulysses, James Blunt, etc.) and captures their brimming sound and vigorous energy. EMAP match their songs with content, walking a fine line of instantly contagious rocked out dance grooves with thought provoking lyrics, making intelligent music you can dance to.

Wednesday July 5th - Bowery Ballroom, NY (Joey Fredrick)
We kicked off the tour last night at the Bowery Ballroom in New York. I swear this city tries to kill me every time I'm here. I have a whole new appreciation for the guy that cuts me off and sends me home at 2am back in San Francisco. Allen from The Rakes equated it to a gold fish that will eat itself to death if continuously given food. I'm no gold fish. I'm the badger...
Show was really good. The Rakes and The Adored rocked my pants off...errr...that came out wrong. They were awsome. Nuff said yo.
Thursday July 6th - The Paradise Lounge, Boston (Joey Fredrick)
I'm sitting backstage at the club after a good set. Tired. F'cking New York City. Another great show from The Rakes and The Adored. Can't wait to sleep in the van tomorrow on the way to DC. Over and out...
Friday July 7th - The Black Cat, Washington, DC (Joey Fredrick)
Our first ever show in DC was awsome! The club staff was super accomadating and the crowd was there to have fun. The only downer was that the President didn't show up. We had him on the list with a +1 for his ol' lady Dick Chaney. Maybe next time...
After a Ben's famous chili dog and roughly four hours of sleep, we piled into the van and are currently driving up to Providence for the next show. Tomorrow we have a day off and are hoping to catch the World Cup somewhere in Indiana on our way to Chicago. That's it for now!
Over and out...
Sunday July 9th - Travel day (Joey Fredrick)
We played our set last night in Providence, broke down our gear and hit the highway. It was my turn in the drive rotation so I pounded two Red Bulls and pointed the van towards Chicago. Not much to mention over the next fifteen hours...some rabbits, a few deer, a couple lame Bush bumperstickers (get with it people...sheesh).
We rolled into Chicago and followed our directions to the hotel. About a block from the hotel we stopped to look at the map when I spotted a guy on the sidewalk who looked a lot like Stiffler from American Pie. And yes indeed it was him. Highpoint for the day? Who knows. Looking forward to the show tomorrow night at The Double Door!
Over and out...

Where to start? Sorry we've fallen a bit behind on the tour blog. It seems like a simple enough thing to do, I know, but somewhere between driving all night, playing crazy rock shows, and ravaging every roadside taco truck in Connecticut, certain duties have slipped. Yeah, you read that right: taco trucks in New England. At first we thought it was a mirage, but it turns out there's a vibrant Mexican community up there cranking out some quality grub at, say, a Flagstaff, Arizona level of quailty (Mexican food scale: San Francisco=10. New York City=1). And we found it just in time, it had been nearly a week since our last burrito, and in the world of Every Move A Picture that is totally unacceptible.
Monday July 10th - Double Door - Chicago, IL (Brent Messenger)
The show was a lot of fun. The crowd was a little, um, how should I put this; unexpectedly stiff considering Chicago's undeniable rock heritage and party reputation. Maybe the Cubs lost that day? Anyway, by the 3rd song or so people seemed to loosen up. After the show there was a great after-party across the street. Another in a seemingly endless string of opportunities for us to go totally overboard withour new BFFs, The Rakes.
Tuesday July 11th - Varsity Theater - Minneapolis, MN (Brent Messenger)
Maybe there was an extra spring in our step because this was the day of the official release of Heart=Weapon, our debut album, but whatever the reason, this show rocked. The crowd was great, the stage sound was perfect (thanks to Paul, The Rakes engineer who is now doing sound for us. He's a genius), and everything seemed easy. It happens that way sometimes. There are nights when you have almost an out-of-body feeling on stage. Those are the best.
We're on our way to Seattle now and have been driving for 13 hours straight. We plan to power it straight through. We're like a bunch of truckers jacked up on meth, but without the sordid roadside behavior and, of course, the meth. We're leaning pretty heavily on the Red Bull, though. They should sponsor us.
We hope this longer than usual blog makes up for everything. Truth be told, I typed the whole damn thing with my thumbs on a Blackberry. Do I get extra credit for that?
