The Shirelles - "Mama Said"
Super catchy song from 1961. One of few songs that manages to turn my frown upside down whenever I need it to. Amazing back-up vocals, as always, by these girls.
The Go-Betweens - "Love Goes On"
I hardly know anything about this band, but I know I love the song. Makes me feel like drinking pop and dancing the night away. "I know a thing about lovers. Lovers want the moon". How true...
Lucinda Williams - "Overtime"
Lucinda is one of my favorite singers, and she sure knows how to write sad, sad songs. The tremolo-guitar gives me shivers every time.

Van Morrison - “Caravan” (as performed with The Band on The Last Waltz)
This is one of my favorite vocal performances by Van the man. Just amazingly energetic and powerful. And the experience gets even more profound when you see him doing his eccentric dance moves on the film.
The Meters - “Handclapping Song”
It doesn't get much groovier than this. I promise.
Ennio Morricone - “Gabriel's Oboe” (from The Mission)
A tad too languishing one might argue, but I still find it very moving. And the movie itself is just magnificent.

The Bear Quartet - “All Your Life”
A song with a crazy drum-beat made by Swedish indie-icons, The Bear Quartet. Yeah, the drums are definitely what I love about this song, and of course the weird guitar intro. You should check it out right now!
Guns N' Roses - “November Rain”
One of the songs that got me hooked on music. I love the symphonic sound and the two guitar solos by Slash are just great. A song that spoke to my teenager-heart back in the 90's.
Stevie Nicks - “Edge Of Seventeen”
Ahhh, the guitar in this song is absolutely wonderful! And Stevie Nicks is such a great singer. Do I have to say more?
Pehr
Tom Petty - “American Girl”
It's a really good drumbeat and it catches your attention immediately. A classic song and you can hear why.
Nirvana - “Smells Like Teen Spirit”
One of the reasons that many of kids round the world wanted to start to play in a band, at least I did. Nirvana made a great impression on me and for lots of other young musicians out there.
Pretenders - “DonĀ“t Get Me Wrong”
I really like this song. I like the pumping bass and the picking guitar. This is a song that gets me in a good mood right away.
